Festival of Human Abilities
WHAT: Join the Aquarium of the Pacific for its sixteenth annual Festival of Human Abilities, a celebration highlighting the creative talents and abilities of people with disabilities.
This event will feature wheelchair dance, live music, sign language choirs, art demonstrations, and accessible SCUBA diving demonstrations. Participate in free classes led by people who have disabilities. Sign language interpreters will be present at all major shows, and an audio tour and a visitor guide in Braille are available for those who are blind.
WHEN: Saturday, January 26th and Sunday, January 27th from 9 am – 5 pm

Arts Adventures for the Culturally Curious
WHAT: The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District invites the community to join us at the next chapter of a new arts education series at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium called Cuatro@Cabrillo: Arts Adventures for the Culturally Curious. Join arts scholar Gregorio Luke as he leads us through three films by Oscar winning Mexican directors in seminars designed to promote a deeper appreciation of the arts of Mexico. The first movie in the 2019 film seminar series is GRAVITY by Alfonso Cuarón. Cuarón confronts the extraordinary challenge of recreating a world without gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
