World Cup-Themed Soccer Camp Graces Campus El Segundo

Ages 4-14 advanced their soccer skills while having fun at Campus El Segundo this week.

The UK International Soccer Camp kicked off this week for their 1st of two soccer camps this summer at Campus El Segundo. The soccer camp, in conjunction with El Segundo Recreation & Parks and AYSO, took place from Monday, June 18th to Friday, June 22nd with half day and full day options for South Bay youth.

The soccer camp was broken into groups of age brackets with UK coaches assigned to each group. From soccer drills to mini-games, South Bay kids embellished in fun whilst learning crucial skills derived from UK International’s advanced programs.

One of UK International’s coaches, Neil Corrigan, shares “we’re trying to develop the players – it’s a summer camp so we want to make sure they’re having fun.

First-time camper, Charles Hedding from El Segundo shares his favorite part of the camp: “doing all the shooting drills and all the skills drills” and wasn’t hesitant to recommend that other kids from El Segundo attend future soccer camps from UK International.

The Campus El Segundo soccer camp that took place this week is a classic example of the variety of sports programs the Rec & Park Department offers to add value to the residents and families of El Segundo – our hats are off to them for their hard work and dedication!

Classified as a Specialty Sports Camp with El Segundo Recreation & Parks, UK International returns in August from Monday-Friday, August 13th-17th and boasts World Cup-themed drills, skills and games, along with Internationally qualified coaches.

UK is known for their passion for football and UK International soccer association puts their coaches through a rigorous certification process which ultimately adds value to US-based youth soccer players.

The cost of the camp is $195.00 for residents and $234.00 for non-residents. Register online by visiting the El Segundo Recreation & Parks website located here.
