Local artwork, live music, and a beer garden to boot…What’s not to like? El Segundo’s second summer art walk will take place this Thursday from 5 pm – 9 pm in the growing Smoky Hollow neighborhood and downtown El Segundo. ESAW originated from a few creative minds in 2015 and the event has been received by the community with open arms. Each year has been bigger and better than the rest – June 2018’s opening event boasted over 40 participating artists!

About the event

If you missed the June art walk, you have two more chances to enjoy the self-guided tour on July 19th and August 16th. Over 35 studios and museums welcome the public at each event, including ESMoA, Smoky Hollow Studios, Create and Express and more. (See below for a complete list) Each venue will host local artists and many include live performers, all from the Los Angeles area. If you’re in the market for art, all artists are set up to accept payment for their work. If you see something you love, nothing helps support our artistic and eclectic community more than buying from local artists and businesses.

How to get there and ideas for your visit

This year, El Segundo Museum of Art is considered the event’s home base at 305 Richmond St. There is no designated parking, but ample free parking is available throughout downtown. All venues are within walking distance, but shuttles are available if needed. Participating venues will have balloons at the door. The event takes place after the peak of summer sunshine, but if you’re in the mood for food or a refreshing cold drink, you’re in luck. Downtown El Segundo offers almost endless options for divine dining, refreshing brews, and tasty treats. Additionally, food trucks and a beer garden can be found at 314 Main Street. Many of the venues offer food and drink as well.

The event is forecasted to be just as fun, funky, and unique as the community it’s a part of. If you don’t have plans this Thursday, stop on by to support local artists and enjoy an evening of culture and entertainment!
