The Gundo Comedy Festival returns to celebrate its 5th Year of making El Segundo laugh.  This year proves to be bigger and better than ever, with incredibly talented line-ups and several new venues that have been added including The Old Town Patio, Smoky Hollow Roasters, and the Automobile Driving Museum. See details below or click to view The Gundo Comedy Festival 2019 schedule here.

Comedian and El Segundo resident Dave Williamson founded the festival in 2015. This year’s festival will take place between May 14-19, 2019 with both free and Ticketed shows available to the community as well as passes for businesses interested in treating their employees to a good laugh (or two!). 2019 The Gundo Comedy Festival Flyer

Dave Williamson has created a great community event in the Gundo Comedy Fest, with laughs for all ages. My family has attended each year and have been proud sponsors. Thanks for all the good times Dave!

Drew Boyles, Mayor, El Segundo

The festival has featured many of the industry’s top comedians and this year will be no different. Last year’s performers included Preacher Lawson (Finalist on America’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent Champions), Danny Jolles (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Lachlan Patterson (Last Comic Standing finalist), Kelsey Cook (The Tonight Show), Bert Kreischer (Netflix), among several other national headliners.

This community and it’s unique venues have really embraced the festival, and Dave is excited to grow it bigger and better each year.

This Festival brought to you in part by these generous local sponsors!

If you’ve already RSVP’d or if you have a guaranteed seat at one of the events you’re all set! Tickets can be purchased at the door or online in advance at a discount (see links below).

If you’re limited on time, we highly recommend The Blind Barber Show on Thursday at 8 pm at the Automobile Driving Museum (multiple comedians) or one of the South Bay Customs events (Saturday night). We also recommend sending your kids to the 11:00 am show on Saturday at The El Segundo Teen Center.

I grew up in El Segundo where I was spoiled with great weather, friendly neighbors, and Mayberry vibes. I didn’t know I was missing anything until The Gundo Comedy Festival came along. I loved going so much, it inspired me to become a comedian myself!

About Dave Williamson

Dave Williamson was born into a long line of automobile dealers in Miami, FL. After years of working his way through the family business, he decided he enjoyed making his customers laugh even more than he enjoyed making them deals.

Over the past several years, Dave has performed and excelled in many prestigious Comedy Festivals and competitions throughout the U.S., earning him a full tour schedule. In 2012, Dave was deemed by the Miami New Times as “Miami’s Best Comedian”. That same year he released his highly rated debut CD “Thicker than Water” through Stand Up Records, and made his national TV Stand Up debut on NickMom’s “NickMom Night Out”. Most of 2013 and 2014 were spent touring North America with his family in a 25 Foot Travel Trailer, which was documented in his own series of shorts on Nickelodeon’s NickMom channel. Dave was a coordinator on the South Beach Comedy Festival, one of the largest in the country, for 3 years before moving to El Segundo.

You can see Dave regularly at all of the famed Los Angeles comedy clubs as well as producing his own shows.
