Get ready to kick up your feet!
On Saturday, August 25th the historic Automobile Driving Museum is hosting an upbeat evening of dancing and live music. The event is presented by the Swing Dames and their 7-piece Big Band.
The Swing Dames are known for their tight, three part harmony, singing familiar tunes from the 1930s and 40s. Many of the Swing Dames’ arrangements are transcribed exclusively for them from the original Andrews Sisters recordings!
The experience is designed to transport you back to simpler times with the Swing Dames’ “dynamic vocals, stylish choreography, sophisticated costumes, toe tapping up-tempos, dreamy ballads and witty repartee”.
What to expect at swing night
Selections include classic tunes such as Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and more. Saturday’s dance will be hosted by Rob Pope and features headliner Reggie Lee, best known for his roll in “Grimm”. The event includes a food truck and bar to fuel your dancing feet. To capture those memories, make sure to get a snapshot next to your favorite vintage car!
