The Gundo Comedy Festival blesses El Segundo residents this week in what promises to be a “laugh of a time” – a must-attend event for those looking to sit back, relax and enjoy the laughs.
Comedian and El Segundo resident Dave Williamson created and is the show-runner of El Segundo’s very first comedy festival, now in its fourth year. This year’s festival will take place between May 15-20, 2018 with both Free and Ticketed shows available to the community. The festival has featured many of the industry’s top comedians and this year will be no different. Past performers have been Drew Lynch and Taylor Williamson (both 2nd Place finishers on America’s Got Talent), Jeff Dye (host of Better Late Than Never), Brad Williams (Comedy Central), Jake Johansen (45 appearances on David Letterman), among several other national headliners.
This community and it’s unique venues have really embraced the festival, and I’m excited to grow it bigger and better each year.

If you’ve already RSVP’d or if you have a guaranteed seat at one of the events you’re all set! Tickets can be purchased at the door or online in advance (see links below).
If you’re limited on time, we highly recommend The Blind Barber Show on Thursday at 8pm at Old Town Music Hall (multiple comedians) or one of the South Bay Customs events (Saturday night). We also recommend sending your kids to the 3:30pm show on Saturday at The El Segundo Teen Center.

About the Festival:
- Several of LA’s top show producers will be bringing their Stand Up line-ups to various local venues. Some of the producers are: The Comedy & Magic Club, The Blind Barber’s Secret Show, Comedian’s You Should Know, Don’t Tell Comedy, Crafts n’ Laughs, and Giggle Water Comedy Show.
- A free Kid’s show with world renown entertainer Michael Rayner, who has performed comedic juggling and stunts on Sesame Street and David Letterman’s show, will take place at the Teen Center.
- Comedian Bert Kreischer (Travel Channel, Showtime, Comedy Central) returns to record his popular podcast “BertCast” live at the El Segundo Brewing Co. Past guests of his at the festival have included actor Jaleel White (Family Matters), Joy Taylor (FS1’s Undisputed), and several of his fellow comics.
- We’ve partnered with El Segundo’s Park & Recreation Dept to provide FREE DROP-OFF BABYSITTING to local residents who purchase tickets and attend a show Saturday night. The kids need to be potty-trained and registered in advance. Additionally, local Restaurant and Bar deals will be offered to ticket holders so they can make a night of it.
