“To Protect & Serve” – an oath the El Segundo Police Department cares about greatly. They also care about the relationship between our community and their department.
This Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 5 pm to 8 pm on Main St., the El Segundo Police Department is hosting an annual National Night Out community-building event where residents are invited to bring the whole family to further cement the relationship between ESPD and the community.
About National Night Out
Sgt. Ryan Danowitz and Officer Lauri Risk teamed up to direct this year’s National Night Out. According to Sgt. Danowitz, “National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.”
Officer Lauri Risk adds “National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.”
The El Segundo PD National Night Out event will take place on Main Street between Mariposa Avenue and Palm Avenue. The hours of the event will be from 5 pm to 8 pm. The event will feature:
- Live Music – Beatles Cover Band
- Two Bounce Houses
- Kids trackless train ride
- BBQ Hot Dogs and Hamburgers
- Popcorn machine
- DT Demonstration
- Basketball Shooting Game
- Balloon Artist
- Face Painter
The El Segundo Police Department is putting this event together in an effort to build relationships with our community – let’s show our support by attending this year’s event.
