The El Segundo High School Eagles baseball team won 6-4 in a thriller on Friday, May 3, 2019, against Santa Fe. They’ll play #1 seed Arcadia on Tuesday at 3:15 pm at Stevenson Field in El Segundo.

With the Eagles down 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning and bases loaded, Cooper Sutherland hit a game tieing double. The Eagles rallied with two more runs to take the lead 6-4 ending the inning two runs ahead of Santa Fe – but Santa Fe wasn’t going without a fight!

In their next at-bat, Santa Fe came out strong with two base-hits with the tieing run advancing to 2nd base. Burner struck out the next two batters and got the third out on a grounder to first base.

The Eagles take on the number one seed Arcadia Tuesday 3:15 at Stevenson Field – if they win, the Eagles will advance to the quarterfinals on Friday with the opponent and location TBD after tomorrow’s game.
