Intro
Despite the cliché, our children really are the future. As a community, it’s our job to provide them the best possible start. This is especially true for our local teens. The years spanning from middle school and beyond are incredibly transformative.
Teens are finally old enough to understand more deeply what it means to make a contribution. They’re learning how to be responsible, dependable, and compassionate- just of the few of the qualities we want to instill in those who may one day be running our town.
El Segundo is home to many resources for families, including a local teen center and football league. To help raise funding, the El Segundo Teen Center and El Segundo Football 9th Annual Golf Tournament took place this past Sunday. The Golf Tournament was held at picturesque the Lakes in El Segundo with all proceeds benefiting El Segundo youths.
About the event
The annual tournament featured 9 holes of golf, lunch, a raffle, and trivia. With over 60 golfers in attendance, the event generated an impactful and generous contribution to our local youth resources.
The event was sponsored by The El Segundo Masonic Lodge, The El Segundo City Employees Union, ROAD, Nicol Real Estate, Working Needles, and Palisades Screen & Glass. Plycar stood in as the $10,000 Hole in One Sponsor, with additional thanks to El Segundo Youth Action Sports Foundation for their sponsorship of the $5,000 Progressive Put.
A big shout out to all sponsors and members of the community who came out to play and support our youth! With fun, food, and fundraising, the event was a great success. If you didn’t make it this year, keep an eye out for news on next year’s tournament.
