The El Segundo 10U and 12U All-Star teams gave it their all today playing at two different locations with one game ending shortly after the other – both teams won keeping their journey to the Little League World Series alive in the Little League Southern California Championship Tournament.

Both teams play today in the elimination bracket and will face the winning team of the winner’s bracket next.

2018 ESLL 12U All-Stars Victorious Over Quartz Hill (D51) in Low-Scoring Affair

Led by Manager Michael Alcala, the El Segundo 12U All-Stars defeated Quartz Hill Little League 2-1 in a low-scoring pitcher’s dual. El Segundo fell behind in the first inning where Quartz Hill LL was able to score a run.

The 12U team got into full swing in the 4th inning where they scored two runs while batting against 2 outs.

Pitcher James Baldino held strong until the 6th inning where Mateo H. was called in to help close out Quartz Hill LL.

The 12U team lost 6-0 against Park View LL on July 24, 2018, and a loss tonight would have ended their journey to the Little League World Series – congrats, 12U All-Stars! We are proud!

Overall, the 12U All-Stars are 10-2 and will play in the elimination bracket today against Huntington Valley Little League. A win tonight will force a final game against the winning team of the winner’s bracket and the winner of that game will head to the Little League West Regional in San Bernadino in a fight to represent the West in the 2018 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA, in August 2018.

El Segundo LL 2018 All-Stars 10U Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over North Park LL

The El Segundo 10U All-Stars are led by team manager Jenette Osborn. Tonight’s game was a back-and-forth thriller with the 10U boys fighting back after being down by 1 to score 3 runs in their last at-bat in the top of the 6th to overtake North Park LL 6-3. Pitcher Logan B. was able to hold off North Park LL in the last inning.

Like the 12U All-Stars, a loss tonight would have ended the 10U All-Stars’ journey to the Little League World Series.

The 10U All-Stars head to Corona, CA today to play against Huntington Valley Little League in the elimination bracket. A win tonight would send the 10U All-Stars to a final game against the winning team of the winner’s bracket.

Congrats, 10U All-Stars! We are proud! Good luck with your next game!
