The 2019 El Segundo Hometown Fair & Carnival kicks off this Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 10 am – 11 am. The City of El Segundo Recreation & Parks Department along with R.O.A.D presents the 2019 Hometown Fair! The event will be on the 600 blocks of N. Main St. in lovely El Segundo.

The fair will include games & food from school & activity groups, local entertainment, rides, community groups and more! All-Access ride wristbands are currently on pre-sale for $8 at the Checkout or Clubhouse buildings at Recreation Park. Wristbands will be $10 day of the event. (See the Facebook event here)

There will be a 65-foot pirate obstacle course, a mechanical bull, 25-foot slide, a rock climbing wall and more! The Annual Bake-Off will take place in the gazebo in Library Park. This year’s categories are Petit Desserts & Cookies, Bread, Rolls & Muffins, and last but not least, Cakes & Pies! Last year, our sweepstakes winner (best overall) was a wonderfully-baked traditional bread. Other highlights from the Bake-Off included strawberry cupcakes from a mother & daughter duo, peanut butter cookies and all kinds of delicious pies! Entries are accepted from 10am-11am and can be delivered to the gazebo on the day of the event.

A variety of vendors will be selling one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, while the El Segundo Police Department and El Segundo non-profit groups will participate in the event to provide information about their organizations and programs. The El Segundo Rotary Club will be having their Annual Duck Drop that benefits local programs and groups. The Duck Drop will happen near the Showmobile at 2:00 pm and winners will be announced at 2:30 pm. There will also be Hula-Hoop and paper airplane toss contests. The annual Bake-off will be taking place during all the festivities. Bake-off entries are due between 10 am – 11 am. The winners will be announced at 1 pm.

El Segundo High School groups are coordinating food booths and game booths in an effort to raise funds for their distinct academic clubs. Vendors will be selling unique handmade crafts, while ESPD and El Segundo non-profit groups will participate in the event to provide information about their respective organizations and programs.
